Important info about technical requirements and access
Mr. Roshuk will be speaking using Second Life's built-in VOICE-CHAT capability. Please ensure that your system allows you to hear voice-chat and is configured ahead of time.
If you are not yet a Second Life user:
It is very, very important to download the Second Life software, create your account, and familiarize yourself with navigation and other controls ahead of time. This process can take 15 minutes to an hour or more, depending on your familiarity with navigating in 3-D virtual environments. Second Life has a particularly steep "learning curve" even compared to other virtual worlds or games you may have tried.
Unfortunately the organizers will not be assist you with technical problems during the event.

Course Description
Internet fraud raises challenging issues of prevention, enforcement, and international law. Mr. Roshuk will discuss the latest developments in Internet fraud and regulation, and enable attorneys to spot and address these issues in their clients' matters.
Alex T. Roshuk is a New York State attorney. He has two law degrees from McGill University, Faculty of Law, Montreal, Canada (B.C.L./LL.B., 1997) and has been practicing law in New York City since 1998 advising businesses, individuals and not-for-profit organizations in transactional and litigation related matters. He was the first legal advisor to the Wikimedia Foundation, Inc. (Wikipedia) from 2003-2005 assisting with the organization's tax exempt status application to the IRS, trademark applications, and various copyright related issues.
Prior to becoming a lawyer Mr. Roshuk worked in the entertainment industry as a film eidtor, radio announcer, television producer, and director and as an administrator and/or director of numerous not-for-profit media arts organizations in the United States and Canada. He studied electrical engineering at Princeton University in the 1970s. He currently lives and works in Park Slope, Brooklyn.
