 I would like to remind you all that a transcript is being made of this meeting and will be posted to our website.
[10:13]  Geri Kuhn: The only agenda item we have today is hearing from our candidates for board positions.
 Before we begin with hearing from the candidates, I would like to let you know that we will be changing our building.
[10:13]  Geri Kuhn: Agenda Faromet has kindly designed a new building that uses less prims. We are going to replace this building with hers. We will then have more prims to use for other things like furniture. I think by the time of our next meeting, we will have it in place.
[10:14]  Soro Dagostino: What about the toxic rain?
[10:14]  Geri Kuhn: The next item of business is to hear from our candidates.
[10:14]  Geri Kuhn: Yes, the toxic rain is a problem.
[10:14]  Geri Kuhn: I have to follow up with Ben to see if he heard back about his complaint.
[10:14]  Geri Kuhn: Sam also suggessted raising the building

[10:15]  Rose Springvale: individuals can turn off partical rendering if it bother sthem
[10:15]  Geri Kuhn: So we may pursue both options.
[10:15]  Geri Kuhn: All board positions are actually uncontested so all of the candidates running will be automatically elected.

[10:21]  Sam4 Courtois: I believe that virtual worlds are a giant step forward toward the natural future in the are of legal tools
[10:21]  Sam4 Courtois: Where I live, many of the major communities are not on the road system
[10:22]  Sam4 Courtois: Juneau, the State capital, and Nome, for instance are hundreds of miles away, and one cannoen drive to either place
[10:22]  Sam4 Courtois: yet the people of Nome deserve to be repreented in person in the capital

[10:23]  Sam4 Courtois: I think taht example could be replicated in thousands of ways

[10:23]  Sam4 Courtois: For me the SLBA is a way to introduce virtual reality to lawyers, as a first step to broad acceptance
[10:24]  Sam4 Courtois: I believe we can recruit lawyers to the Association
[10:24]  Sam4 Courtois: I believe we can demonstrate the worth of SL
[10:24]  Sam4 Courtois: I believe the things that have happened already are wonderful examples
[10:24]  Sam4 Courtois: for isntance the fantastic CLE programs taht eh Association ahs sponsored are excellent examples of the uses of the tool

[10:50]  Legal Writer: With the bad news about Linden Research, layoffs, etc., it hasn't been a good year for SL

[10:50]  Legal Writer: We may be hurt by a general trend of the shine coming off of SL.
[10:50]  Legal Writer: I think as an industry, we are in the "Trough of Disillusionment" portion of the Gartner Curve.
[10:50]  Sam4 Courtois: I believe there are lawyers on line that ahve not found their way ehre
[10:50]  Legal Writer: Not sure if everyone knows what I am talking about.
[10:51]  jamiebryce Infinity: /me smiles. I admit I wonder whether we want instead to be the Virtual Worlds Bar Assn
[10:51]  Juris Amat: Not really but the disillusionment references is pretty clear
[10:51]  Legal Writer: But what it means is that the initial wave of euphoria about SL and virtual worlds has worn off, and the hard work must begin to build an industry
[10:51]  jamiebryce Infinity: Gartner didn't invent the concept of fads :D they just try to rename and copyright it

[10:52]  Legal Writer: Eventually, the industry will become huge, and will eclipse the infant state of the industry back when SL was the hottest thing around.
